Matta-Clark.
This is Gordon Matta-Clark’s Splitting (I love this photo.. the shadow on the ground is so perfect!). He cut this Jersey house right down the middle. He made a private “dwelling” a public artwork. He turned a piece of architecture into a work of sculpture. There are so many things I can (and want to) say about it, but since I should actually be writing a paper on this..
